Macy's making plans to close stores

Another retail closing announcement may be coming, though this time, it won't impact an entire chain.

The Wall Street Journal says that Macy's is making plans to close 10 stores nationwide. There isn't information yet about which stores those will be or whether the Valley View Mall store is at risk.

  1. Normally I don't care much about department stores, but I have to say that losing Macy's would be a major blow to Valley View. Not only do they take up a lot of space there, but they're also the "high-end" anchor; without them, VV risks losing some of its hard-won cachet.
