New fitness business opens in Salem
A new fitness facility opened last month at the New Century Venture Center in Salem.
It's called Temple Fitness Studio, and it's a health facility for women, offering 30-minute circuit training, weight loss management and personal strength training.
If you're 30 years old or older and never have been involved in fitness training (or can't remember when you last worked out), you're just the customer that Temple Fitness wants, according to a news release about the business.
Leslie Ann Manning, a certified fitness trainer, owns Temple Fitness.

I live in Salem and I'm don't know where the New Century Venture Center is. Jenny, can you enlighten those of us who are geographically challenged?

Hi, Justafan,
The New Century Venture Center is located off West Main Street in Salem. To get there, you turn onto Mill Lane and then, Southside Drive. Hope that helps!

Thanks, I know where that is. Didn't know the center had a name.

Hi:
I'm Lisa Ison, President of The New Century Venture Center. Jenny's directions are correct. Turn left at Sheetz onto Mill Lane, cross the railroad tracks, and Southside Drive is the next left after the 4-way stop sign. We are about halfway down Southside on the right.
Here's some information about our Center:
The New Century Venture Center is the region's only small business incubator, assisting start-up and existing businesses at two locations -- Salem and Smith Mountain Lake. Since inception in 1996, NCVC has assisted over 125 businesses and has graduated 49 businesses. NCVC offers flexible and affordable office space and manufacturing/warehouse space, shared services (such as copier/fax), central receptionist and telephone answering, conference/meeting rooms, business assistance and mentoring.
Our motto is "Get In, Get Good, and Get Out! Our mission is to assist and guide entrepreneurs through the early, and often critical, start-up stages to grow into successful and viable business operations. Selected services are also available to offsite clients through our program called Venture Out. We have space available at both of our locations and would love the opportunity assist your new or growing business. Call 387-1555 for more information or to arrange a tour.
