The latest on Dunkin Donuts

I learned the newest opening date set for Dunkin Donuts at Keagy Village in Southwest Roanoke County.

The franchise owner, Andy Rod, told me that he's planning to open the doughnut shop sporting a drive-through window on May 15.

Work still is going on to ready Keagy Village for tenants, but Rod told me that he's pleased with progress there. He has been waiting until this retail center was more complete before opening Dunkin Donuts.

Still, there have not been further announcements of new stores at Keagy Village. So far, Ntelos is open. Firehouse Subs also is slated to open in the same building as Dunkin Donuts and Ntelos.

  1. Come on, Dunkin Donuts! We're looking forward to your opening. The strip mall was totally unnecessary; I really miss the trees that were destroyed; but SOMEBODY has to pay the rent so that another bank doesn't get stuck with another bad loan!

P.S. I do like the Franklin Road Dunkin Donuts, and I will come by your store on a regular basis to buy coffee.

  2. Oh please, Dunkin Doughnuts? Can you get anymore bland. Everyone around here knows who the "King of America's Doughnuts" is, and its sure as heck not D.D. If Roanoke County had allowed that signal on 419 near Tanglewood Mall a few years ago, we'd have had a shiny new Krispy Kreme store there, instead of yet another Mexican restaurant.

  3. Got to agree Sarah. Krispy Kreme has it all over DD when it comes to doughnuts. Glazed and custard filled are a tradition at our house on Easter morning. I drink coffee so rarely, I can't tell one cup from another.

  4. Dunkin Donuts on 419? Very bad...

...for my waistline. Yummy though. I drive 419 at least twice a day, and I'm glad I won't have to cut over to Franklin Rd to visit DD.

  5. I've wondered why they don't have a Krispy Kreme over in SW Roanoke. That other one on Melrose is near the ghetto and too far away. I guess KK was looking to get one as prior post said.

  6. Skip the chains and go local. Head out to Blue Collar Joes in Daleville. Their doughnuts beat all of 'em hands down. http://www.bluecollarjoes.net

  7. I completely agree Sharlyn! Blue Collar Joe's is wonderful! Great service, great prices, and most importantly very tasty doughnuts. I cannot speak for their coffee - anyone else? Go out and support your neighbor!

  11. Hi, Scott,
Thanks for the heads up on the Firehouse Subs and Scottrade openings. I'll plan to check back with the Dunkin Donuts owners to find out the specific opening date for the new shop.

  12. Any new news on the Dunkin Donuts? It has already been almost a month past the last open date! We are all ready for it to open for those that work near it!
