Headmaster of North Cross School, Timothy J. Seeley.

North Cross School’s eighth Headmaster, Timothy J. Seeley, will be installed into office on Fri. Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. in the Carter Athletic Center. North Cross School students in first through twelfth grades, as well as trustees, faculty, alumni, families, friends, and community leaders will attend the ceremony.

This special occasion provides an opportunity to officially welcome Mr. Seeley into his new role as headmaster and allows the North Cross School community to come together in celebration on this important moment in the School’s history.  The morning will be spent honoring the School’s history, reaffirming its mission, celebrating traditions, and embracing the priorities of the future.  The program will be enriched by musical selections performed by the School’s Select Ensemble and a solo performance by Mr. Seeley’s daughter, Molly Hall Seeley.  Anne Lee Stevens, Chairman of the Board, will preside over the ceremony and Gregory Floyd, Founder and CEO of Gregory Floyd and Associates in Maine and long-time friend and mentor of Mr. Seeley’s, will provide the keynote address.

The installation ceremony will officially kick off the School’s third annual Alumni Reunion & Homecoming Weekend festivities, during which several hundred alumni are expected to return to campus to enjoy a host of activities. More information about the weekend is available at www.northcross.org.

Formerly the School’s assistant headmaster and upper school director, Seeley was appointed following an extensive nationwide search that took more than three months. He was offered the position with unanimous approval from the Board of Trustees at the recommendation of the School’s nine member search committee and officially took over in his new position on July 1, 2008.

He has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Dartmouth College (where he was a member of the 1978 Ivy League Champion football team), a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, and a Master of Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education.

During his 27 year career, he has taught many courses including Algebra, Ethics, Philosophy, Religion, and Humanities, and served four institutions, including North Cross School, in many leadership capacities that share his one common goal, “to enable each student to grow in mind, in heart, and in spirit so he or she can have a happy, full life and can contribute to the greater good. There is no more important work.”  More information about Seeley is available at www.northcross.org/headmaster.
