Depsite the wind and cold on Saturday, Oct. 18, the Faith Christian School community enjoyed a day full of fun at their annual Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest has been held every year for the last 7 years by the Student Government Association at David and Ginny Savitz's farm in Floyd County.
The students, parents, and faculty enjoy food and fellowship, hayrides, volleyball, soccer, and frisbee throughout the day.
"It's more of a way to get the school together in an environment that is comfortable and bridge the gap between the lower school and upper school," Kristin Smith, who teachers at
Faith Christian said.
David Savtiz, who uses his 126-acre farm land to produce hay, has always offered his land to Faith Christian, since his children attended years ago and his son was a member of SGA.
"It is a way for us to glorify God and stay connected with the school," David and Ginny Savitz said. "We wouldn't be doing this without knowing we were doing if for God."
