Cave Spring Elementary School students filled the hallways today as they headed to the auditorium for a Veteran's Day assembly performed by the 5th-graders.

Today's program was specifically dedicated to Marine Corporal David Mason who went to Cave Spring Elementary School as a young boy. And the current students at CSES were so excited to see him, they were yelling his name as they went toward the auditorium.

The program was titled, "This is America: A Celebration to Honor our Veterans" and was directed by Ann Kelley.

Corporal Mason led the school in the pledge of allegiance at the beginning of the program. The 5th-graders then sang songs such as, "This is America", "God Bless America", "This Land is Your Land", and "God Bless the U.S.A".

The students also made Corporal Mason an "I spy book" and dedicated it to him. They also wrote him letters and drew him pictures that they compiled into an envelope booklet and gave it to him.

A slide show was also presented during the assembly with Veteran's of some of the teachers, faculty, and students at Cave Spring Elementary.
