Woman killed in crash on Hunting Hills Drive
A woman was killed in a head-on crash in southwest Roanoke County late Tuesday, police said.
Judith H. Scearce did not survive a crash one block from Starkey Road on the 5400 block of Hunting Hills Drive at about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Roanoke County police said.

Fatal Traffic Crash

• Victim Name(s): Scearce, Judith H.
• Suspect Name(s): Rogers, James L.
• Charges if Applicable: Charges pending investigation
• The road was blocked to traffic
• Alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor.
• Seatbelts were worn by the victim(s)
• Unknown if weather was a factor at this time.
• Additional Remarks: A fatal traffic crash occurred in the 5400 Block of Hunting Hills Drive. A beige colored Ford Explorer was traveling North on Hunting Hills Drive when the driver, James Rogers, lost control and traveled into the oncoming lane of traffic. A white Lexus four-door, operated by Judith Scearce, was traveling South on Hunting Hills Drive when the Ford Explorer entered her lane. The two vehicles subsequently collided. Scearce did not survive the crash. Rogers and two passengers were transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for non life threatening injuries sustained in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
