Roanoke County's annual Christmas tree lighting set for Dec. 1

On Monday, December 1, 2008 Roanoke County will once again host the annual Christmas Tree Lighting from 6 PM- 7 PM featuring entertainment by participants from Roanoke County's After School for Kids program. The Christmas tree measuring 30 feet tall decorated with 1,000 feet of lights, will be raised and installed on Tanglewood's front lawn near Cal Spa, easily visible from US 220/5-81 and Electric Road. Other decorations include gigantic 4 ft x 4 ft presents under the tree. The entire scene will be lit by powerful spotlights to illuminate and add wonder to the holiday season.
Come join the delightful kick to the 2008 holiday season, enjoy light refreshments, music and
merriment. Simply attend for a chance to win free pictures with Santa compliments of
Tanglewood Mall and drawings for admission buttons to the Fifth Annual Enchanted Eve,
Roanoke County's New Year's Eve celebration throughout downtown Vinton.
Roanoke County's Christmas Tree Lighting is an event of Roanoke County Parks, Recreation
& Tourism in cooperation with Tanglewood Mall. All activities will be held outdoors,
