Roanoke County Parks, Recreation & Tourism and Tanglewood Mall kicked off the Christmas season this evening at Roanoke County's Annual Christmas Tree lighting.

Cookies and hot chocolate were served to throughout the evening in an attempt to keep the community warm. The Honorable Charlotte A. Moore, member of the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors and Cave Spring Magisterial District, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

Roanoke County Administrator John Chambliss gave the holiday greeting and Roanoke County's After School Kid's program participants sang Christmas carols.

The crowd was asked to gather around the Christmas tree and light candles in preparation for the 40-foot Christmas tree's lighting.

  1. What a wonderful job done by the ASK program! The weather was indeed frightful, but the children's singing was so delightful.
