Square Society's Black & White ball will be January 31

The Square Society's annual "Black & White Bals Masque" will be January 31 at the Hotel Roanoke from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Here's a photo from last year that shows Greg Rhodes, Ann Bailey, Sherry Schaff and James Schaaf of Southwest Roanoke County.

And below is the official release from the Square Society about this year's event (and if you're not familiar with the Square Society, well, it helps support Center in the Square):

Square Society's "Black & White Bals Masque"
The Hotel Roanoke
Saturday January 31st, 2009 8pm until Midnight

This fabulous masquerade ball was created from plans to celebrate the Square Society's 10th Anniversary. It is a revival of the organization's own Black & White Ball from the late 1990s, coupled with the glamour and intrigue of Truman Capote's Black & White Ball in 1966.

The dress is black and/or white cocktail attire, black tie optional, mask required. Please be sure to purchase all of your attire for the event at Bride's House & Formals and Mr. Tuxedo and mask from Fantasy Creations!

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for this event:

Bride's House & Formals, Mr. Tuxedo, Twig & Berry...A Floral Affair, Lamar, City Magazine, K92, Packaging Corporation of America, Skyy Vodka, Fantasy Creations, Joe Vannoy and Valley Bank!!!

Tickets can be purchased at Bride’s House, Fantasy Creations or online at www.squaresociety.org

Tickets are $45 and include heavy appetizers. A cash bar will be provided. The Pop Rivets will provide the dance music and guests can also enjoy pianist Jay Powell.

Rooms are available at the Hotel Roanoke. Mention the Square Society’s Black & White Bals Masques to see if any discounted rooms are still available.
