Little Miss Roanoke Valley helps crown pageant winner at Richfield
Normandie Essig, the North Cross fifth-grader who reigns as Little Miss Roanoke Valley, had a busy Friday. She was among a number of pageant princesses on hand at the Richfield retirement community outside Salem to help crown the winner of the community's own pageant as Ms. JCT Richfield.
The winner, if you're curious was Phyllis Holdway, seen here as she hugs hugs Victoria Ratliff, Petite Miss Virginia (left), and Normandie Essig, Little Miss Roanoke Valley (right).
For more photos from the pageant -- including others of Normandie -- see this photo gallery from Bob Henderson.
The pageant winners were crowned back in the fall at Cave Spring High School. And we can't resist a bit of shameless self-promotion -- except, hmm, wonder who's really promoting whom?
A few weeks ago, a number of the pageant princesses were on hand at the Franklin Road IHOP to help serve pancakes and sign autographs as part of a charity fund-raiser. Well, if you've seen this week's issue of SWoCo, you saw some of the photos from that event on the back cover. And, well, here are some of the pageant people smiling for the cameras to show off that issue of SWoCo.
Titleholders and Board Members proudly hold up the back cover of the The Roanoke Times' insert for Southwest Roanoke County, the SWoCO. Friday's edition featured FOUR full-color photos of the younger titleholders fundraising at IHOP under the headline "Pageant Princesses and Pancakes."
