Earthquake centered under Cave Spring area
Did you feel a tremor early this morning?
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a 2.8 magnitude earthquake about 4:08 a.m., according to the National Earthquake Information Center. (UPDATE: The preliminary report listed a magnitude of 2.6.)
The epicenter was about 4 miles west-southwest of Roanoke, in the Cave Spring area.
