Roanoke Bar awards scholarships to two from Cave Spring
The Roanoke Bar Association Foundation (RBAF) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2009 James N. Kincanon Scholarships which will be awarded on June 9 at the Annual Meeting of the Roanoke Bar Association. The scholarship program was established in 1997 in honor of James N. Kincanon, Esq., in recognition of his fifty years of service as Secretary/Treasurer of the Association. With the 2009 awards, the RBAF has awarded $89,000 in scholarships since it was established in 1997.
The 2009 recipients are:
Brian Hugh Burks, a 1996 graduate of Northside High School, 2000 graduate of the University of Richmond, and a student at the University of Richmond School of Law.
Aaron Bruce Cook, a 2001 graduate of Salem High School, 2007 graduate of Roanoke College, and a student at Washington & Lee University School of Law.
Kathryn Audrey Lawryszek, a graduating senior at Cave Spring High School.
Lila E. Nieves-Lee, a graduating senior at Roanoke Catholic School.
Meredith Louise Tenison, a 2002 graduate of Cave Spring High School, 2006 graduate of Duke University, and a student at Harvard Law School.
