Jason Hartsel graduates from George Mason University
Jason Blair Hartsel has graduated summa cum laude from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at George Mason University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Graphic Information Design and a minor in Film and Media Studies.
While at GMU, Jason has been a George Mason Scholar, and has been named to the dean's list for all semesters. Jason was involved with Student Media during his four years at Mason. He served on the student newspaper staff (The Broadside) as Managing Editor of Production, Assistant Style Editor, and Film Critic. He was part of a team that created a campus publication, VoxPop Magazine. He designed eight publications, serving as Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director for six issues. VoxPop received numerous awards and Jason hosted a workshop at the College Media Advisors National Convention in New York City in March, 2008. Jason also served as Creative and Marketing Design Editor for the Office of Vice President for Research and Economic Development during 2007. Upon graduation, Jason received the College of Visual and Performing Arts award for outstanding Graphic Design student. He was also chosen to receive the departmental writing award. Jason is currently pursuing a career in graphic design in the Washington, D.C. area.
