About Emily Flora
Emily Flora is the community journalist for SWoCo. Emily is a Franklin County native, born and raised, but spent a lot of time traveling to and from Roanoke as she was growing up. Emily lived in Radford for a few years while earning her degree at Radford University and returned to the Roanoke area to start a career.
Reading and writing are two of her favorite hobbies, but if you can’t find her doing one of those things, you’ll definitely find her enjoying the outdoors, whether she is at Smith Mountain Lake or hiking in the mountains. Emily especially enjoys playing fetch with her Labrador retriever, Peyton. Friends and family are closest to her heart.
Emily especially likes to write about people and about her travels. Give her a pen and some paper, and you’ve got a happy girl!
