I did it!

Hey, I got through an awards show- go me.

It wasn't that bad, although it does drag on for a while.

Most of all, though, I'm excited about this week's (and this months!) premieres. Never used to be a huge TV watcher, but I've caught up (thanks DVDs!) on a bunch of great and/or addicting shows and now have way too much to watch every week.

As you might have guessed, I'm psyched for Heroes tomorrow, even though that means staying up past 11 p.m. two nights in a row. Then Grey's and The Office Thursday (I'm leaning toward Grey's to watch live, but we'll see...) Finishing up with Desperate Housewives on Sunday. What a great week- enjoy it!

Alright, now I'm going to get some pie and get to bed.

Catching up on my Emmy knowledge

So... I guess there are a bunch of less-important awards that were announced earlier? Am I getting that right?

On another note, have not been too impressed with dresses so far- am I supposed to wait for the Oscars for that?

And there ya go, Lindsey- your show won!

Also, I think the awards shows should have commercials like the Super Bowl.

Fun picture

I had to run out to a fire (see Roanoke.Com tomorrow morning for the details), but I'm back. To make it up to you, here's a picture from Heidi Klum's tux-to-skirt change.

Cue the commercial!

Yeah ... cut off the worthy writer making a valid point about articulate Founding Fathers .... while showcasing some really lame intro dialogue. Thanks for the censoring, Emmys. I think I"ll be changing over to "True Blood" on commercial-free HBO.

This time tomorrow...

I'll be halfway into the two-hour season premiere of Heroes!

Laugh NOT

Could that have been the worst way to honor The Daily Show possible? Get those have-been oldsters off the dang stage.

Lily Tomlin

Hey! Lily Tomlin was on. She'll be at the Barter Theatre down in Abingdon for a fundraiser Nov. 8.

It's $300 to see her and go to the post-show dessert banquet. For just $300 more, you can have dinner before the show, too.

If you're interested, call (276) 619-3303 for more info.

Loved Laura's Cinderella slippers

Theme song compilation

Josh Groban sang a medley of theme songs, and I have to say -- it was pretty cool. I would've chosen a different artist to do it, but whatever. I don't really like Groban, but it was fun to hear all the theme songs live. I think the whole thing went a little long (it got a little boring after a while).

Ones I can remember are The Muppets, The Simpsons, The Addams Family, Friends, South Park, Happy Days, The Jeffersons, Baywatch, The Brady Bunch, Cops, Fresh Prince, SNL, Conan O'Brien, Johnny Carson, Rawhide, Two and a Half Men, Giligan's Island, Mash, etc.
