Farewell to Uga VI
Uga VI, sideline mascot for the University of Georgia Bulldogs, died late last month, according to a report in the Macon Telegraph. The dog was 10 years old.
"He didn't suffer," Cecelia Seiler is quoted of her and her husband Sonny's bulldog. "He lived right here in my den with me for 10 years. He was a happy dog."
The Seiler family has owned all of the half dozen Uga dogs. Uga V was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated as the nation's best mascot.
Uga VII's readiness to take the field for the 2008 football season is a topic for school officials, the Telegraph report said.
According to Wikipedia, "..published reports touted Uga VI's win-loss record at the University of Georgia as the best in the [school's] history."
My condolences to all UGa fans. I am sure he was a damn good dog.
