Off Moments

Sometimes the best pictures can be found away from the primary action of the assignment you are covering. I was in Lexington at the Lime Kiln Theater covering the memorial service for Mike Seeger, and found really nice pictures during the service.  As I was on my way to the car to return to the office, I heard some beautiful music coming from the woods behind the stage area. I walked back and found an old van parked in the woods with three people holding an impromptu jam session. I stayed for about 15 minutes and took a few pictures. I think that this one is my favorite of the day. It serves as a good example to look around when you are on assignment, because sometimes the best moments are the off moments.
