Hi Kevin!

Last night I took out the trash to find a light rain falling. The ground was briefly dampened. I also saw those clouds at dusk Tuesday night.

Looking over data from Roanoke Regional Airport I see that every month this year has been above normal in temperature. All, except February (3.1) were just above normal, but above normal just the same. June will probably continue the trend.

We'll be taking a trip to near Charlottesville after the 4th, and staying in a place lacking in A/C. I'm hoping that the air temps are cooler than last year, it was pretty sweltering up that way with days in the 90's and nights barely dipping to the low 70's. Some rains in that timeframe would certainly help!

A few weak rain showers (heavy sprinkles?) are drifting through tonight ... I noticed some signs of instability with the cumulus/stratocumulus clouds poking up a bit just before dark ... but deep-layer moisture is lacking so not much in the way of rain at all tonight.

If the Climate Prediction Center is right, maybe some moisture building in from the Southeast toward the Fourth of July:

Looking forward to making the most of the next several evenings to fix my mower (again), and work on taming my flowerbeds and planting some shrubs and trees that have sat idle in their containers during the recent monsoons. Yesterday was really the first day in a long while where it didn;t feel really humid and sticky too, which was nice.
