The Wild Life, with Mark Taylor

David Breen with his Roanoke County buck

David Breen killed this nice buck on the first day of the late muzzleloader season in Roanoke County.

You hear a lot about a second rut and it sounds like something like that may have been going on where Breen was hunting. Here's what he wrote about the hunt:

"I watched a smaller buck for about 10 minutes, trying to decide whether to shoot it or not when this one came in and locked horns with the other one for about two minutes. It was really neat to see! I dropped this deer from 160 yards. I was using 170 grain bullet so I shot about 3 inches high and it dropped right where it stood."

  1. Nice deer David! Never seen a deer fight another yet in the woods, but I bet it is cool as heck. Congradulations on a fine deer and shot.
