If you’re a mom, make sure you’re signed up for Amazon Mom (got to Amazon and search for Amazon Mom). You automatically get free Amazon Prime (with free 2 day shipping!) for 3 months, and then for every $25 dollars you spend out of the Baby department, you earn another free month – up to a year!
This may be obvious to some, but if you’re a student (or person with a “.edu” suffix to your email address I think you still qualify) you are eligible for Amazon Prime, free for a year. Amazon Prime merchandise that is purchased can be mailed via 2-day shipping for free! I’ve used it quite a bit this fall for textbooks and other items. Will definitely be using it for holiday shopping as well!
Also, even without Amazon Mom, I’ve done well with the Free Super Saver Shipping, which ships within about a week of ordering with qualifying purchases of $25 or more, though the Mom program sounds great.
Amazon was very helpful when I had my baby in the winter, and couldn’t get out to shop much for baby items.
I tend to order items that ship directly from Amazon, instead of ones from various vendors they list. Even if some of the non-Amazon items are less money, there are often more shipping charges involved.
