[UPDATED: 9/21] Kroger doubles max fuel points redemption, offer 4x points on gift card purchases
Kroger this week announced the extension of a promotion that doubles the maximum points redeemable for a discount at its fuel centers.
Through the rest of 2012, Kroger Plus Card shoppers can collect up to 2,000 points each month and save up to $2 per gallon of fuel.
Grocery shoppers who use the loyalty card earn 100 fuel points for every $100 spent in Kroger stores. Each 100 points translates to 10 cents off per gallon of gas in a single fill up — and the previous maximum redemption was 1,000 points or $1 off each gallon.
“We have extended this promotion at our customers’ request,” spokesman Carl York stated in a news release. “We know it comes at a good time with the continued increase in prices at the pump.”
The quadruple fuel points promotion has ended.
There is a great way to earn extra points now too. Most gift cards sold in the grocery store earn double points everyday. Quadruple points are being offered for a limited time. The purchase of a $50 Kroger gift card, which usually earns 100 gas points is now worth 200 points, for example.
Most stores have large displays of gift cards for other popular retailers, restaurants and subscriptions, from Aeropostle to T.G.I. Friday’s and Xbox LIVE. You can even shop online at the Kroger Gift Card Mall.
Now would be a great time to purchase gift cards for your own holiday shopping or to give as gifts this winter!

I stopped for gas at Kroger this morning and saw at sign at the pump about the 4x points promotion on gift cards.
The offer ends Saturday!
Question….Can you purchase a kroger gift card for say $200, get the 4x points and use the gift card on gas?
You sure can, Todd!
Actually, you can’t. I tried. But I guess it works for all other types of gift cards
Jess- The press release I received from Kroger stated the offer is good on Kroger gift cards. I will look into this Monday morning.
You cannot get the 4x promotion on Kroger cards. I’ve already tried that on a past promotion.
Also they say it does not apply to reloadable cards.
