Logically, it is much easier to determine a short list of restaurants you'd like to visit, then check with them to see their hours of operation.

As many restaurants that have opened and closed recently, it's far too difficult to try to generate an EZ Button of hours of operation for the entire Roanoke & New River Valleys.

Just pick five restaurants you're interested in, then call. That way they can also answer your inevitable question about what specials they will have for that evening.

Unfortunately I don't know of any besides Hotel Roanoke, Debbie. However, in our "Best Of" issue that came out shortly before Thanksgiving Dolores Kostelni noted the Christmas hours of some local spots. That might be a helpful place to start. You can find that list here: http://blogs.roanoke.com/bestof/2012/11/restaurants-serving-thanksgiving-dinner/
Here's a short list of chain restaurants compiled by the Huffington Post that are usually open on Christmas day: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/23/restaurants-open-on-christmas-day-2012_n_2346159.html

Anyone else have suggestions?
