I’ve given these online retailers gold stars — what are some of your favorites?
Once I find a retailer that has a website that’s easy to navigate, commonly offers coupon codes, offers free shipping and has great customer service there’s a 99% chance I’ll become a repeat customer.
To my surprise, I found all of the above this week on Kmart’s website. I’m not a regular Kmart shopper, but I’ve been searching for an affordable microwave for a few weeks now and spotted one in the store’s ad.
The microwave was already $50 off. Then, I found a coupon code for an additional $5 off and I received free shipping. On top of all that, I’ll get over $10 back in Shop Your Way Rewards.
What made this deal even more awesome was that I got the microwave delivered the very next day since it was shipped from a nearby warehouse. Next day delivery. For free. I don’t know that I’ve ever experienced a 24-hour turn around without having to pay a significant amount more.
Next time I’m searching for a basic, name brade product you can bet I’ll be checking out Kmart again.
Here are some other sites I brag on whenever I get the chance:
*Nordstrom: Free shipping and free returns, plus awesome sale prices on some brands not normally sold around Roanoke.
*Drugstore.com: There are always promos running and coupon codes to be found. I also get free two-day shipping on most products with my Shoprunner account.
*Amazon: For such a large company, the customer service is great. They get back to you quickly and get things sorted out without causing the shopper a big headache. I also love the Prime service. Before I was a Prime member, I utilized the Amazon Student service and Free Super Saver Shipping often.
These are just a few of my favorites.

Zappos offers the best customer service~personal shopping to find the perfect fit, noproblems with returns, VIP STATUS after your first order. The VIP allows you FREE next day shipping, no charge for shipping to and from..they send personal “thank you” cards! We don’t buy shoes anywhere else. Now they offer accessories, home goods and I can’t say just how much they raise the bar on customer service.
I’m a regular at online shopping. I feel that some of the best deals can be found online and there is little to no headache. Some online retailers that I use very often are:
Walmart- Site to store shipping is free, some items ship for free on their own. Great reviews from other consumers who bought the same item, so you usually know what you’re going to get.
Target- I have the store card so shipping to my house is free, lots of great clearance items that you can’t find in the store, 5% off when you use your store card.
Overstock.com- Everyday free shipping over $50. A.K.A you can ship a couch for free…amazing.
Amazon.com- I’ve had great results selling as well as buying. *Best way to sell college text books*
American Eagle- You can find promo codes everywhere for this store.
Craigslist- Although it’s not really a “store.” It’s like an online yard sale. I’ve found my best bargains here.
*My best secret is just typing in google what exactly you are looking for and pressing the shopping button. This will show you where on the web the item is cheapest.
Brooke: I’ve never used Zappos but I hear good things. Easy returns are really important, I hate sneaky restocking fees.
Brandi: I agree with you about Amazon being the best way to get rid of text books. You can get so much more money back than by going through college bookstores.
Target is one of my favorite stores, but since I don’t have a credit card I’m always hesitant to order things online. Sometimes they have free shipping deals on select products, though, which is nice.
I always check Overstock when I’m shopping around, but I’ve never had any luck finding just the right thing. I’m getting ready to move so I’m on the hunt for tons of housewares, which I know they have a plenty of. It’s definitely on the list of places to check.
Amazon is awesome. Galleryofguns.com is pretty good also. Any guns you purchases from Davidsons (galleryofguns.com) gets a lifetime warranty from Davidsons. You see the MSRP and then the various local retailers prices. Choose one and have it shipped to them.
