March 21-30: Vineyard Vines Whalehouse Sale in Lynchburg

“I’m not a rummager, but this has been fun,” said Virginia Thornton of Lynchburg, as she shopped at a Vineyard Vines warehouse sale on Nov. 14.

You may remember way back in November I wrote about Vineyard Vines having its first warehouse sale — or “Whalehouse Sale,” as the company likes to call the events — in Lynchburg.

Well, the first time must have been a success, because they’re coming back.

Thursday, March 21 through Saturday, March 30 you can shop the sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

This sale will be held in the same location, at 7401 Timberlake Road (the former Lowes) in Lynchburg.

Any details on what will be sold?

What kind of prices could we expect?

Specifics about warehouse sales are hard to come by before they start, unfortunately. But I do have some insight since I was at the last Vineyard Vines sale (you can get a better idea of the sale by clicking the link in the first sentence).

Caitlin: There are clothes and accessories for men, women and children. A little bit of everything was available: swim suits, shoes, outerwear, sundresses, knits, sweaters, ties — a lot of the classic and popular VV items. Rodney at BNLIQ (who’s hosting the sale) said there will be an assortment of fall and spring merchandise.

Jayson: There’s no price list for this sale (which you might be used to if you’ve ever been to a J.Crew sale), but merchandise is discounted an additional percentage off from a previously marked down price. Usually that means the price is at least 50% off, though it can often be more. I purchased a short sleeve polo-style shirt for about $12.

Is it still worth going on Thurs the 28th? Its like a 2 hour drive for me but Iam worried its all picked over at this point.

Amanda: This sale is replenished as it goes, so there’s a constant stream of new merchandise. New boxes are constantly being brought in which is a major positive.
