Okay bargain shoppers, it’s time again to call your attention to some money-saving items that have been on the blog, as well as a few upcoming events.
Elizabeth Arden Warehouse Sale
Today (Saturday, Sept. 28) is the final day of the Elizabeth Arden End of Summer Warehouse Sale. This is the final sale of the season and future sale dates have not been announced, so if you’re in need of cosmetics, fragrances, cosmetic bags and other products, stop by the warehouse at 3030 Nicholas Ave. in Roanoke between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Note: Because this is an operating warehouse, no one 16 and younger will be admitted inside. All sales are final. For more information, call 983-6400.
Upcoming consignment sale
This time of year, as we’re prepping our wardrobe for a change in the seasons, we see a lot of consignment sales. A week from today, the LFA Consignment Sale will begin in the former Kroger building at 3419 Orange Avenue in Roanoke. This popular sale will have clothing, furniture, toys and more for babies and children. The sale will continue through Oct. 13 and the hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except on Sundays, when it will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Shoppers can get an additional discount on purchases on the final three days of the event. On Oct. 11, most merchandise will be an extra 40 percent off; on Oct. 12, most merchandise will be an extra 50 percent off. On Oct. 13, most merchandise will be an extra 75 percent off. If you’re looking for something specific, however, I suggest you visit the sale on the first weekend, when the widest selection will be available.

Exclusions include alcohol, gift cards, lottery, money orders, prescriptions, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, tobacco products or items reimbursed by a governmental program.
T.J. Maxx offers online shopping
Fans of T.J. Maxx will be thrilled to hear this news: The bargain retailer now offers online shopping.
In a statement from the company, Doreen Thompson, Vice President of Corporate Communications, said: “We view tjmaxx.com as an extension of our T.J. Maxx stores, as it offers customers high quality, fashionable, brand-name and designer merchandise, all at the great values for which we are known. The site is designed for easy navigation and is also mobile-enabled to support tablets and smartphones.”
Unfortunately, the only departments currently available online are women’s apparel, handbags and shoes. There’s also a special section featuring timely offers on Halloween costumes for babies, kids and pets.
Shoppers will be able to return most purchases to local T.J. Maxx stores, or they can be sent back to TJMaxx.com.
