Burger King’s new Satisfries — the French fries with “40% less fat and 30% fewer calories than the leading French fries” — have been all over the news and in commercials for the past couple weeks.
If the new item from Burger King has peaked your interest, I suggest trying it out this Saturday and Sunday when participating restaurants will be offering a value size order of Satisfries for free. There’s no purchase necessary for this deal, so you can stop in for a free snack or try some on the side of your meal.
If you’re curious what those percentages break down to, here are the numbers compared to fries from McDonald’s:
Fat compared to McDonald’s fries – 11.2 g (McD’s) vs. 6.3 g (BK) per 70 g serving.
Calories compared to McDonald’s fries – 226.8 calories (McD’s) vs. 150.5 calories (BK) per 70 g serving.
I rarely eat fries, so in my opinion the fat and calorie savings of Satisfries aren’t worth it if I’m going to be splurging on fried food anyway — I’ll stick to my old favorites.
If you have tried the Satisfries or plan to this weekend I’d love to hear your review.
