ROANOKE – Adam Gray, current junior varsity basketball coach at William
Byrd Middle school has been selected as the head boys basketball coach at
Glenvar High School.
Gray, who has been teaching social studies since 2002, will transfer to
Glenvar starting next school year. During his time with the Terriers JV
team, Gray also served as an assistant coach on the boys varsity team.
Gray replaces long-time Glenvar High School boys basketball head coach
Rick Crotts, who announced his coaching retirement earlier this year.
“Adam will bring a youthful enthusiasm which will help reinvigorate our
well-established boys basketball team,” said Glenvar H.S. Principal Joe
Hafey. “I am confident he will continue the progress made by coach
Crotts,” Hafey added.
