Knitters to unite this Saturday, June 14 at the Duck PondPosted Jun11, 2008 at 04:54 PM
Grab your knitting gear and head out to Lake Spring Park, known valley-wide as "the Duck Pond," for a day of knitting with others! According to the official "Worldwide Knit in Public Day" website, the event was established in 2005 by Danielle Landes. Its purpose is to bring knitters together (since knitting can be such a solitary act) as well as letting the community know about knitting as a distinct hobby. At blog posting time, there were 732 registered KIPs recorded on the site. WWKIP Day is held on the second Saturday of June each year. File photo of the 2008 Fishing Rodeo by Scott Craig. |
