The Wrights have pushed back opening day of their new restaurant, Cafe Madrid, due to a few minor setbacks. The plan now is to open this coming Tuesday, August 26, according to Michael Wright.

If you missed the story in this week's So Salem about the new venue in the Old Salem Post Office (where Michele's on Main used to be,) click here. We'll keep checking to see when the Spanish cuisine starts cooking and let you know about it here on the Notebook.

I patronized this establishment last night and the food was very flavorful and delicious. I shared entrees with friends and tasted the ensalada manchego, as well as the featured soup, tomato with rosemary. They were both very good but the soup should be a mainstay on the menu...it could even be served cold it was so good. The server suggested we try the hot chocolate and churros. This hot chocolate is not the drink but instead a very rich custard like dessert that I would write home about. The owner spoke with us twice and was very pleasant. We all were very satisfied with the meal.
