Salem volleyball JVs defeat Lord Botetourt

salem_jvvolleyballSMALL.jpg

This morning's sports pages of The Roanoke Times tell us that Salem's varsity volleyball team defeated Lord Botetourt on Monday. But they don't typically report about junior varsity sports.

We do here at So Salem (when we get them.)

So we're pleased to report that the Salem JV volleyball team also defeated Lord Botetourt. The first game was Salem 25, Lord Botetourt 22. The second game was Salem 23, Lord Botetourt 11.

Salem's next volleyball match is Wednesday at William Byrd.

As always, if you have photos involving teams or players from Salem or western Roanoke County, you can share them at news@sosalem.com. If anyone has anything else to add about the game -- further accounts, scores, stats -- you can click "comment" below or email us.

That's a photo of the junior varsity volleyball team above. You'll see it again in this Friday's print edition of So Salem, which we're devoting to Salem sports. Our last post about Salem High School was August 22, when we posted 101 fan photos from the Salem football scrimmage at James Madison University.
