Salem resident Kay Huffman just opened up Twinkletoes Dancewear in Ridgewood Shopping Center across from Lewis Gale. A veteran of direct sell programs, she is excited about having her own business.

“I have two young daughters that dance … I listened for years to the other moms complaining about driving so far to get dance wear,” Huffman said. “So I thought I’d try to bring something over here to our side of town.”

The store will have another grand opening celebration on August 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with gift cards, tote bags, bracelets, and other items being raffled off every half hour. Brand names like Body Wrappers, Leo's, and PrimaSoft point shoes will line the shelves. Dance related streetwear and a play area for toddlers should make it easy for dance-moms to shop there, too, said Huffman.
