Landscape at Highlander Stadium gets an update

Highlander home games will carry on with blood, sweat, and tears as they normally do—but starting with the first home game of this season, fans in the home stand will notice just a little more Glenvar pride. Green and gold junipers sit within a landscaped “G” next to the visitor’s section.

“It’s something we wanted to do for the kids,” said the Glenvar-Salem Rotary Club’s current president, John King. It’s something the club has been planning for almost a year, and it took almost four days: August 25, and Sept 2 through 4, to get the excavating done, the concrete and gravel set up, and the bushes planted.

The 15-member-club also participates in Rotary-wide fundraisers and supports other local rotaries through funding.

Glenvar High School’s first home varsity football game is Sept. 19, but junior varsity football will play at home against Hidden Valley this Saturday, Sept. 13, at 6 p.m.
