Along with tying for first with Zeke Shaffersin in the Three Rivers District match this year, junior Scott Obenshain also was the overall top-scorer in the Roanoke Valley Junior Golf Association's summer tour. He finished third in the overall regular season behind Tanner Carbaugh of Giles and Zeke Shaffer of Radford in the 15-17 bracket.

Glenvar finished third in the season behind Giles and Radford.

His coach, Rob Campbell, presented him the RVJGA plaque. Obenshain has been playing golf since he could walk, and scored a hole-in-one at Cliftondale Country Club in Clifton Forge, VA at the tender age of eight.
