Police statement on chase that ended in crash in Salem

A police pursuit on Friday night wound through Roanoke County, Roanoke and Salem before it finally ended with the driver crashing on Polar Lane in Salem.

Police Pursuit


• Incident: Police Pursuit

• Date of Incident: September 5, 2008 Time of Incident: 9:20 P.M.

• Location of Incident: Peters Creek Rd. @ Cove Rd.

• Investigating Officer: M.S. Christian

• Victim Name(s):

• Suspect Name(s): Quinton Pulling

• Charges if Applicable: Felony Eluding Police, Driving Under the Influence, No Operator's License, Improper Registration


• Arrests Information: The suspect is being held in jail without bond.

• Additional Remarks: On September 5, 2008 Officer M.S. Christian with the Roanoke County Police Department attempted to stop a blue 1989 Pontiac 4 door for improper registration at the intersection of Peters Creek Rd and Cove Rd. The vehicle failed to stop, resulting in a low speed pursuit that left Roanoke County. The Pontiac crashed into a wooded area in the 1100 block of Polar Ln located in the City of Salem. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Quinton Pulling, who was transported to the Roanoke County / Salem Jail and charged with:
Felony Eluding Police
Driving Under the Influence
No Operator's License
Improper Registration

No injuries were reported as a result of the pursuit.
