Salem woman dies from burns

Helen Dometris Oliver died on Saturday, the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home said. The 85-year-old woman was burned in her East Main Street home when her clothes ignited, officials said. Click here to read the breaking news item from roanoke.com.

Plus here’s a note from Salem Fire & EMS relating to the incident: “The Salem Fire Marshal’s Office would like to remind everyone to please keep a three foot clearance around all heating sources.”
