McClintics raise almost $600 for charity selling “LemonAid”
On Saturday, July 18, Emorie McClintic, her friend Ella Pratt, and Emorie’s mom, Heidi, raised almost $600, including online donations, for the Children’s Miracle Network.
The stand’s name? “Emorie’s Wacky-Tacky Yellow LemonAid stand.”
Heidi is encouraging her daughter, seven-year-old Emorie, to have a service project every summer when she’s off from school. And what a successful first project!
Kids and businesses all over the Roanoke Valley set up lemonade stands for the eighth annual Anthem Lemonaid Kids Helping Kids fundraiser from July 17 to 19, and it was a beautiful weekend to be outside.

I’m very proud of my niece, what a great success!
It’s great to teach children they can give, no matter their age.
I am so proud of Emorie. What a wonderful way to learn to give back and also to be grateful for what she receives. She even had “extra” help from Elliott. I am sure both of them will continue to come up with creative ways each summer to be of service to others. Way to go girls!
