Salem Farmers Market report from Beth Carson
Today we have four of our vendors on the market: Greenwood Farms with lots of annual plants and hanging baskets, Leonard Cook with baked goods, Bennie Wertz with tomato plants and fresh kale, and Coy Shupe with local honey. Several of our vendors will be in tomorrow to share some of their home baked goodies, meats, plants, eggs, and greens with you. Be sure to add the farmers market to your list of places to visit this weekend!
Tomorrow we look forward to seeing all these and more! Leonard Cook will have lots of freshly baked cinnamon rolls and sweet roll style breads. Treasure Cove- Jody Elmore will be on hand with homemade chocolates and dip mixes, cakes in a jar, roast beef dry rub mix, and rosemary beer bread.
Coy Shupe- Our resident honey man will once again be with us bringing fresh local honey in an assortment of sizes.
Greenwood Farms Sandra will be bringing in flower and vegetable plants from her greenhouse to brighten up your yard!
Highland Farms- The Dulaneys will be back with lots of hormone free, antibiotic free, grass finished meats. Triple J Farm.
The Sparks Family will also be at the market with their hormone free grass finished beef from their farm in beautiful Patrick County.
Accent Nursery -Debbie Kesler will have lots of beautiful shrubs and trees to brighten up your Spring Landscape. David Smith will have homemade designer soaps that are both beautiful and fragrant.
Bennie Wertz and Mac Wertz will be on the market with plenty of tomatoes, green onions, greens, and rhubarb.
Kathryn Chappell- Will be on the market with fried apple pies and cakes. Rodney Smith- Will be on the market with fresh baked goods and plants.
Please welcome our newest vendor Meridith Novak! Meridith will be bringing her 15 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, possibly rhubarb, farm fresh brown eggs, and a delicious sampler of jams and jellies. Have a great weekend everyone!
