The Pride of Salem Marching band, rec league cheer and football teams, and the homecoming court paraded down Main Street for the annual celebration on Friday, Sept 30.

School board candidates debate on Monday, 7 pm, Glenvar MS

The Roanoke County Council of PTAs will hold a School Board Candidates Forum on Monday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at Glenvar Middle School.

The three candidates running for seats on the Roanoke County School Board (Mr. Wymer and Mr. Burke running for the Catawba District seat and Mr. Minnix running unopposed for the Cave Spring District seat) will participate in the forum.

The public is invited to attend the candidates forum.

The Glenvar Middle School volleyball team played Giles County’s eighth-grade team on Thursday, September 29. The final score for both games was close: Giles prevailed 25-19 in the first game, and 25-20 in the second game.
