Roanoke, Virginia (September, 2011) – Roanoke County’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is proud to present the World Showcase of Music on Saturday November 5, 2011 from 6:30 PM until 11 PM at Green Ridge Recreation Center, 7415 Wood Haven Rd. Roanoke, VA 24019. The evening begins with a special pre-recorded presentation by the “Spirit of Goodwill Band”, which was featured in the award winning documentary film “For Once in My Life”. The group, which is made up of individuals with intellectual disabilities who participate in work training programs at Goodwill Industries of South Florida, will energize and entertain while also reinforcing music’s ability to bring us all together. The rest of the evening will be filled with a variety of live music and dance spanning many continents and capturing the diversity of many cultures. From Caribbean and Celtic to German and many others you will find yourself toe tapping and dancing in the aisles.
