“What kind of school do you go to?,” “What are your team colors?,” and “How long have you played football?” were just a few of the questions Alison Sledd’s curious second-grade classroom asked the two offensive football players from the University of Mount Union. Athletes from the team scattered throughout the school in groups of two, equipped only with a book from South Salem librarian DeWayne Harrell’s stash.
Freshman offensive tackle #19 Alex Goff read “My friend is sad” by Mo Willems. He plans on going into Mount Union’s new nursing program. Sophomore offensive guard #62 Josh Winn read “Hooray for Fly Guy” by Tedd Arnold. He is in Mount Union’s exercise management program.
