Carson Tucker’s 6th Birthday
For Carson Tucker’s 6th birthday this year, he decided that instead of receiving gifts from friends and family he wanted to give back to someone. Earlier in the school year, West Salem participated him Pennies for Patients for a little girl from the school who had passed. When I asked him which charity he wanted to help out, he immediately said “Pennies for Patients”. Pennies for patients is a charity that helps children with leukemia and their families. I emailed them and let them know what Carson wanted to do. The response was great. Not only did they send me donation boxes, but also bracelets, posters, and handouts for everyone. On April 21st we had Carson’s birthday party and he and his friends and family raised $197.20 for Pennies for Patients. And that’s not all, we are still waiting on more boxes from friends and family who couldn’t make it to the party.
