Glenvar High School graduate Matt Akers earns doctorate in cancer cell biology

On May 13, 2012, Matt Akers, a 2000 graduate of Glenvar High School, received his doctorate in cancer cell biology and a master’s degree in internal medicine and pediatrics from the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He will continue his medical residency in Morgantown, where he lives with his wife, Jenn, daughter Bella and son Jonah.
Matt is the son of Sandy and Lynn Akers of Salem.
