Meet Cindy Curtin, goat cheese and soap vendor at the Salem Farmers Market
Curtin’s Dairy must love goats! Cindy Curtin certainly does, times seven!
Not only has she given them cute names, such as Lucy, Matilda, Buttercup or Minnie, but she also has pictures of them for all to see.
Cindy is at the Salem Farmers Martket every Saturday (usually on Stall #13) with samples from her milk donors made into delicious varieties of cheese. These include flavors such as mild pepper, chive & garlic, Chevre, Feta and (my personal favorite) dill & garlic. She also sells goats milk soap, along with brown eggs.
Cindy and her husband Michael started their diary two and a half years ago on 16 acres in Rocky Mount, with 7 milk donors (goats), 9 chickens, a great Pyrenees herd dog and 2 mousers (or as most call them, kitty cats). Cindy chose our market to sell her products because she says it is very friendly and family oriented, and we love having her here. Come on down any Saturday and sample her cheeses and soaps!
