Photo: Eichelman’s “Modern Miracle Onstage”
Fred and Carolyn Eichelman of Salem share this photo of their granddaughter. Fred says:
“I believe in miracles and I am not speaking just as a proud grandparent. 18 years ago last March Annie Eichelman barely made it out of the hospital after being born three months premature. She could not come out of the hospital for two months and the pictures of all the tubes and devices hooked to her were daunting. However, she made it and has made it ever since.
We just returned from Huntingdon, PA where we went to see Annie, now a senior, in her first big lead as “Dolly” in the musical Hello Dolly. Though a high school production it was a sellout every night, rave reviews in newspapers and the audience, laughed, cheered and applauded all through the show. Carolyn actually joined me in going “Woot! Woot! Woot!” a first for her and we were not ejected.
Annie is going to a church college next year and will major in theater and social work. As a missionary kid she would like to bring theater to neighborhoods in need as she did when the family was stationed in Spain for eight years in their missionary work.”
