Salem grad wins Virginia Tech merit scholarship

Alicia “Cheecha” Powell, a current Virginia Tech student and a 2008 Salem High School graduate, won a wonderful $3,000 Merit Scholarship from Virginia Tech. She was nominated by her professors, and then she had to compete with students from Virginia and North Carolina.

We are so proud of her hard work and dedication.
