Alex Robertson achieves Eagle Scout rank
Alex Robertson achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America on March 18, 2012. Alex began his Boy Scouting adventure in 2005 and it has been an incredible experience. He is a member of Troop 51 that meets at First United Methodist Church in Salem. In the fall of 2011, Alex was inducted into the Order of the Arrow (OA). The OA is the national honor society of the Boy Scouts. Alex’s Eagle Scout community service project was a concrete paver walkway and retaining wall connected to the Salem High School Art Department. The walkway and retaining wall beautified the outside entrance to the Art Department and enabled a ceramics garden to be created behind the retaining wall. The ceramics garden is used to display ceramic art projects created by Salem High art students. Alex would like to thank the numerous adult leaders of Troop 51 and his fellow Scouts for their support in helping him to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Alex is the son of Tom and Meg Robertson and he will be attending Old Dominion University in the Fall.
