Photos: Annie Lin and Jerry Wu celebrate Mother’s Day
I did not decorate my house for Mother’s Day! My yard already was so beautiful with all kinds of flowers there. Beside my carport were red, pink, yellow, and white roses, and pink peonies, too.
I bought 20 balloons for my residents at Eastwood Assisted Living. I was taking pictures when suddenly, Jerry lost his hand hold, and balloons flew away, up, up, and up to the sky, all gone!
Jerry’s job coach of Career Support System, Patti Blackstock, came to my house and I shared my Tai-Chi demonstration with her. She said “Annie, may I try?” I said “Sure!” Look at her bare foot, she can work that fun! It was a nice comedy show! See! The beautiful flowers are in the background. She said, “This is the best day at work I have ever had!” Patti wants a copy of the video to share it with her boss, who is Sara Tolley.
I had a picture with the “Happy Mother’s Day” cake that my co-worker Marlene gave me. She gave me a gift card to take Jerry to eat. I hung a craft with my nurse’s picture on it. Ms. Parks made that craft for me. Everyone asked me who is in the picture? Is it your daughter? I said “No.” That is me, but I am old now. (really!)
My son, Jerry, and I went to Red Lobster for a dinner. You know Jerry likes to eat, and he really enjoyed his dish.
On Sunday, we went to the Roanoke Chinese Church. Thanks God for a “Happy Mother’s Day!”
Later, we went to the Longwood Park (Shelter#5) for the Dragon Boat Festival in Salem. We had a ton of food there. See! We eat a special food that is called “Dumping”(粽子). The dumping is stuffed inside with meat and outside wrapped with bamboo leaf. I just like Chinese culture food (yum mm). I had my Tai-Chi demo at the Dragon Boat Festival. They clapped hands after my performance. I really, really, really enjoyed “Happy Mother’s Day!” and I share it with everyone.
