My daughter, Emma Stanley, who is a rising fifth-grader at Glenvar Elementary School, decided she had enough “stuff” so for her 10th birthday (May 16) she asked her friends to donate food items instead of bringing gifts. They donated to Feeding America: Southwest Virginia. When we took the food to them they told us it weighed 141 pounds and will provide 108 meals to the hungry. There were 20 little girls that made a big difference!
