Photos: Herds show up for Cow Appreciation Day

Salem Chick Fil A was busy with herds customers dressed in cow gear on Friday, July 13 – painted faces, spotted shirts and pants, cow ears and tails, costumes ran the gamut of household items and inventiveness.

“Our customers aren’t chicken. I’ve seen lots of creative cow costumes today,” said Vanessa Miles, the store’s community director.

Today, July 13, is the chain’s “Cow Appreciation Day,” where customers can get a free meal by dressing like a cow “from head to hoof.” Dressing partially like a cow can earn a customer a free entree.
